Custom Gasket Cutting

Any size, any shape, any material — cut to your drawing or sample in 24–48 hours from our Sydney workshop. Shipped across Australia & New Zealand.

Last updated: April 2026

GritGasket cuts custom gaskets to any size, shape, and material from our Sydney workshop. Send us a drawing, a DXF, or just an old gasket as a sample — we'll turn it around in standard grades within 24–48 hours for Australian and New Zealand customers. Non-standard materials, bulk orders, and full production runs are quoted on receipt of spec.

Whether you need a single one-off replacement for a legacy flange or a production batch of 1,000 identical elastomer seals, we run the right cutting process for the volume and material — from hand-cutting and knife-cutting for rapid prototypes, through die-cutting and CNC waterjet for production quantities and thick metallic stock.

What Do You Cut?

  • Flat-face and raised-face flange gaskets to any ASME, AS, BS, or DIN pattern, or to a drawing / DXF.
  • Manway, handhole, and vessel gaskets in CNAF, PTFE, rubber, or graphite.
  • Custom shapes — obround, rectangular, profiled, stepped — cut from sheet.
  • Repeat production runs of any quantity, held in stock or shipped to a schedule.
  • Metallic gaskets — spiral wound and ring-joint gaskets cut to non-standard sizes on request.

Cutting Processes

  • CNC waterjet — high precision (±0.1 mm) on soft and metallic sheet up to 100 mm thick. No heat-affected zone, clean edge. Best for production runs and tight tolerances.
  • CNC knife / flatbed router — fast, economical on rubber, PTFE, and CNAF up to 10 mm. Ideal for complex profiles and repeat batches.
  • Die cutting — highest throughput for high-volume identical parts in thin stock.
  • Hand-cutting — for one-off replacements, prototypes, and odd-shape gaskets traced from a sample.

How to Place a Custom Order

Send one of the following and we'll quote by return:

  1. A drawing or PDF with outer diameter, inner diameter, thickness, bolt PCD, and bolt hole diameter (for flange gaskets).
  2. A DXF / DWG file — preferred for CNC cutting, no further conversion needed.
  3. An old gasket as a physical sample — we measure and draw from it.
  4. The flange standard (ASME B16.5 Class 150, AS 2129 Table D, etc.) — we pull the dimensions from tables.

Include the material required, quantity, and service conditions (media, pressure, temperature) if you would like us to recommend an appropriate grade.

Lead Times and Minimum Orders

  • Standard grades, in stock: next-day dispatch for orders placed before 2pm AEST.
  • Non-standard materials (to order): typically 5–10 working days.
  • Production runs (100+ pieces): lead time quoted on order; we hold jigs and DXFs on file for repeat orders.
  • No minimum order on cutting — one-off gaskets welcome.

Who Uses Our Cutting Service?

Maintenance shops, OEMs, and process operators across Australia and New Zealand: refineries, water treatment plants, food and beverage processors, mining sites, HVAC contractors, and pump/valve distributors. We ship nationally and to NZ via freight partners.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — we happily cut one-off gaskets for maintenance jobs. Send a drawing, DXF, or physical sample and we will quote the same day for single-piece orders as well as production runs.

DXF and DWG are preferred for CNC cutting (no conversion needed). PDF drawings, technical sketches, or photos of an old gasket all work. We can also cut directly from a flange standard reference (e.g. AS 2129 Table D DN100) without a drawing.

For standard in-stock materials — rubber, CNAF, PTFE sheet — orders placed before 2pm AEST ship next business day. Non-standard grades or thicker stock typically take 5–10 working days. We freight nationally in Australia and to New Zealand via partner carriers.

Yes — we can cut from customer-supplied sheet where the material or grade is not one we stock. Send it with the order and we will return finished gaskets with any offcuts.
