GritGasket is an Australian spiral wound gasket specialist based in Sydney. We wind, machine, and inspect ASME B16.20 / API 601 spiral wound gaskets for refineries, petrochemical plants, power generators, and process industries across Australia and New Zealand — from a single one-off non-standard size to a full production run for a turnaround.
What We Do
We focus exclusively on spiral wound gaskets — the semi-metallic sealing element that dominates ASME B16.5 raised-face flanges from Class 150 to 2500. Every gasket is built to ASME B16.20 / API 601, with materials certificates and dimensional reports supplied with every order on request. Concentrating on one product category lets us hold deeper inventory, keep shorter lead times, and answer the engineering questions that generalists usually punt on.
What We Build
- Centring rings: carbon steel, 304SS, 316SS, 321SS, Monel 400, Inconel 625, Hastelloy C-276.
- Windings: 304SS, 316L, 321, Monel, Inconel 625, Inconel 825, Hastelloy.
- Fillers: flexible graphite (oxidation-inhibited), virgin PTFE, mica, ceramic.
- Inner rings on all Class 600+ as standard, available on request for Class 150 / 300.
- Custom sizes — non-standard ODs, IDs, or full custom profiles wound to your drawing.
Why a Spiral Wound Specialist
- Single-product depth. Every gasket we ship is a spiral wound. We carry full winding-strip and centring-ring inventory across the alloy range, not a token sample of each.
- Engineered answers. Filler selection against your media, seating-stress checks against ASME VIII m and y factors, bolt-up torque to ASME PCC-1 — built into the way we quote.
- Standards compliance. ASME B16.20, API 601, AS 2129, AS 4087, BS EN 1092-1 — we wind to the spec you nominate.
- No minimum order. One-off non-standard ODs are as welcome as a 500-piece turnaround order.
How to Work With Us
- Send a flange standard (e.g. ASME B16.5 Class 300 4" RF), drawing / DXF, or old gasket as a sample via email or the contact form.
- We come back with a quote and a material recommendation inside the business day.
- On approval, we wind, machine, and inspect — standard alloys ship in 24–48 hours; Inconel and Hastelloy windings, 5–10 working days.
